Privacy

This site is a memorial to Emilio Vargas González. It sells nothing and is not run for profit.

What we collect

Only what you type in yourself. In the Share a memory form: your name, how you knew him, the text of your memory and, if you want, a photograph and your email address. In the comments on the guestbook and on the posts: your name, the comment and, if you want, your email address. WordPress also stores the IP address each comment is sent from, so that spam can be kept out.

What we do with it

Your memory and your name are published on the site if you ticked the permission box, and only after a person has read them. Comments are published right away under your name, with no prior review; if one turns out to be offensive, we delete it. Your email address is never published: it is there so we can ask you something about what you told us.

How long

Published memories and comments stay for as long as the site exists, which is the whole point. If you want yours taken down, write to us and we will take it down.

Who we share it with

Nobody. The one exception is Google’s reCAPTCHA, which we use to keep spam out of the forms and the comments: when you submit, Google receives your IP address and technical details about your browser, under its own privacy policy.
